A Start

My current first goal is to get a working, if somewhat ugly, prototype for my battle system and then go from there. I'm also not at all 100% sure how to match the different systems for the different gameplay aspects I want in the battle system but seeing how Godot nests all of its objects the way it does, I can definitely see this being something that's a lot less intimidating now? There is obviously going to be quite a lot of number balancing once I get the systems working but the current goal right now is to get the framework in place. I can always tweak and balance things later.

And ofc I'm hitting a few hitches getting used to a new piece of software and it's programming language, but I could definitely see this being a very nice workflow once I get more familiar with it.
